12/3/05 Al Hattendorf Center $5
Elk Grove Village, though merely halfway between Chicago and O'Hare, is not close enough to draw people out into the
snowy conditions of the winter night, but the baker's dozen that braved the elements rocked out to the fullest. John
Doe Project kicked ass as always, and 33 Heads closed the show amidst equipment problems
and set list confusion. A big thanks to all who came out, and we promise to play our next show within the Chicago
City Limits!!!
10/25/05 Rockin' the Quad @ UIC Free
Rainy conditions moved the show indoors from the Quad to the Inner Circle, where 33 Heads invaded everyone's lunchtime escape from academia! A slightly late start
forced the band to cut a few songs out of their set, but they still rocked out on the songs that remained! The band regrets
not being able to stay to check out all the acts that followed, but we do wish to say that Deuce
was incredibly awesome!
10/22/05 Benefit for New Orleans $10 ($7 in advance)
What a fun day it was! Alot of great bands came together, and the crowd that came enjoyed every minute. Unfortunately,
the small draw left us with less to give to charity than we hoped, but our efforts don't stop there. We will continue to sell
the compilation discs of the concert at our future shows, and when we reach our goals, we will send more relief to New
Orleans and the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Thank you so much to everyone who came out! You made a difference to the people of New Orleans, and that is what counts the most of all. Everyone of you
-- bands and fans together -- have great big hearts of gold, and we will never forget your contibutions.
8/20/05 Sun Cafe Free (Kind Of)
What a show it was! Despite the fact that the concert started an hour and a half late (sorry, everybody) and
a few equipment problems got thrown into the mix, the rock debaucery went full-go as Promiscuous,
33 Heads, and John Doe Project blasted
the Sun Cafe with an all-out rock onslaught!
Promiscuous, Rafael's side project featuring Brad Goliber on vocals & lead guitar, as well as 33
Heads's very own Brian O'Callaghan and Craig Sparling, opened with a
three-song set to get the house warmed up and rockin'.
Next, the Head took the stage. Due to time constraints caused by the late start, the band had
to cut three songs from the set, but still rocked to the fullest nonetheless. Blowing away the crowd with the newest song,
Falling Down, and setting the house afire with Pillow (dedicated to Heather Slowinski),
and capping it all off with a raucous rendition of Starfish, 33 Heads showed that the new line-up is the formula
they've been looking for from the very beginning. Craig set a new standard for drumming awesomeness, and Adrian's pipes soared
throughout the house.
Loud, proud, fierce, and fast, John Doe Project tore everything up with a blistering set of hardcore
punk. Their presence shined through every song, and their light-heartedness throughout (bassist Jude Roche
joked about forgetting the lyrics) the show made for a performance that would not soon be forgotten.
The true star, however, was the Oreo Milkshake, perhaps the greatest thing to ever grace Sun
Cafe, and the world...
5/28/05 Jamie's 20th Birthday Rock-Stravaganza Free
In celebration of Jamie's birthday, 33 Heads rocked with a sort-of-acoustic set. This "Intimate Evening
with 33 Heads" had Ralf on acoustic guitar, Ryan on [surprisingly toned-down] electric guitar, Brian flowing on bass,
and--to much excited approval from the audience--Adrian debuting his chops on lead vocals! Food, fun, and raucous debauchery
ensued throughout the day and well into the wee hours of the next morning, bringing in our original webmaster's new year with
a bang. Happy Birthday, Jamie, we hope you enjoyed the Ballad!
4/19/05 Earth Day @ Von Steuben Free
Alas, like so much buttercream melting in the sunlit tomorrows of our minds, the announcement of 33 Heads re-ascent to
stardom has been premature. This does not of course mean that no ascention shall commence!! Disregard the previous arrangement
of Von Steuben, for it was not meant to be due to scheduling conflicts... OF DOOM!!! But fear not, young 33 Heads followers.
You will have another chance to bask in the glory that is the pure essence of rock you know and love. Thats right, look for
your favorite band, 33 Heads, to be playing a stadium or small coffee house near you soon!!! Come prepared, for the rock they
muster is vicious, and at first unnerving but not sinister. It shall reign supreme. Farewell, until next time...
The show was hella fun, and everyone -- crowd and bands alike -- learned a valuable lesson: our P.A. isn't as loud as
we would hope! But it means well. And we thank it for all it is capable of, which is better than nothing. Anyways, despite
technical difficulties, Promiscous and 33 Heads rocked the block. Thanks to everybody who came out, and especially to those
who came out with Jarritos! See you all very soon!
What an awesome night it was! The Sun Cafe is a bad-ass place to play a gig. Promiscuous started everything off,
demonstrating a musical prowess that was quite amazing. This group -- made up of Rafael Flores, Brad Goliber, Carol Hansen,
and Dr. Rhythm -- was fantastic and we look forward to playing with them again.
33 Heads followed, and the full-on rock onslaught truly began. Opening with their newest song, Man-Spider, the
Head truly rocked to the fullest. The crowd was amazing, dancing to songs and even singing along, especially on the breakdown
to Pillow. The crowd made the night, and they were truly the stars of the evening.
Mind's Hideaway took the stage afterward, and did they blow the crowd away or what? Tearing it up with a mixture of funk,
alternative, and hip hop, Mind's Hideaway was a hell of an experience. Hopefully, these bands will share a bill again soon.
Back from outer space, 33 Heads reunited with the Lords of Suck to rock the walls off of Adrian's House of Soul. A birthday
extravaganza for the Head's amazing drummer, the band showed more confidence and drew they're growing audience deeper into
their music. Playing Genius as an encore, Ryan traded axes with the Lord's Jason Levin, who unleashed a blazing
guitar solo to cap the night off just right.
It was a first performance for both 33 Heads and the Lords of Suck. An all around fun show, it gave both groups
the oppurtunity to show their stuff in front of a live audience. The music rocked, and the crowd left singing Starfish
all the way home!
